Tron Evolution: Battle Grids - Wii Game (Retro Fam)

I bought this game for my son who is 9 years old. Play whenever he can and likes very much. It has good graphics and cool characters. The game levels are very good. I recommend it.

Sooo....I'm really old (ancient by gamer standards) and have been wanting to ride a light-cycle since the first Tron movie!There are enough games here for everyone to find his or her style of play.I just bought it, but here are a few of my faves...so far.Light-Cycle racing is a beautiful adaptation of movie vehicle and one that should be manageable for anyone that likes racing...and a little combat.Light-Cycle arena...is much tougher. The upper and lower levels makes it tricky to get into position against your opponent and the AI is VERY good at staying on D till it gets a chance to switch...then it dives in for the attack.Both make great use of the light-cycles unique "wall" and other interesting physics (90-degree turn anyone?).The disc battle is a lot of fun. The power-ups and the every-changing landscape (yes the floor shifts right under your feet) keep you jumping - literally.And to top it all off, you can create your own in-game Tron Avatar!They are somewhat limited as compared to WOW or LOTR, but still a lot of fun and the style they are drawn it makes your think of well-made manga.Pros:Game types and levels for the entire family.Well-made adaptation (including Jeff Bridges voice in some places) in keeping with the Tron mythology.Beautifully rendered graphics.Cons:None that I can see.

My kids love playing this game. I like how more than one can play at the same time. Very engaging.

I have played plenty of Wii games as it is a job requirement of mine. Actually, playing Wii pretty much sums up my job to be honest. My class of 50 students and I have played numerous games on the Wii with Smash Brothers being the favorite up until I brought in Tron Battle Grids. When I first got Tron for the Wii I was slightly disappointed as I wanted to play the story mode that was supposed to fill the gap between movie 1 and 2. I quickly discovered, however; that although the game lacked the storyline I enjoyed so much on the PC's Tron Evolution, this game more than made up for that with it's epic multiplayer capability. The multiplayer Light Cycle games are amazing all on their own, yet this game comes with several other games that are seen within the tron universe. hyper ball, battle tanks, Identity Disc battles, Light Runners, etc. are all available to play with 4 players or less. The games are exciting for player and spectators alike. In fact, this is perhaps the best multiplayer game on the Wii, especially when more than 4 players are involved. When playing Smash Brothers, players are often disappointed and bored after being defeated and having to wait about 20 minutes or so for their next turn. This wait time varies depending on how many players are involved, yet the bored feelings are about the same nonetheless. With Tron Battle Grids, Non-Players feel like spectators at a sporting event watching epic light cycle battles on the (in our case) big screen..
