I've owned this game for a few months now and one thing I didn't realize when I was buying it is that the game itself is stategy. Normally I don't play strategy but this game's provided entertainment that's kept me up and gave the the kick in the butt I needed to buy a new Game Boy after my old one decided to be picky about when it started. All in all, it scored a 5/5 in my book.

When I stumbled across this game I had never heard …

When I stumbled across this game I had never heard of Yu Yu Hakusho, but since I have seen a couple of episodes. The show tends to lend itself to fighting or action adventure type game. A tactical role playing game may be a bit of a strange choice but then again the unexpected often is more interesting; Imagine a Sponge Bob versus Capcom or Spice Girls Solid (ok that one wouldn't be so hot).Yu Yu Hakusho Tournament Tactics is a micromanagement light tactical RPG. It is fairly simple, but brings a couple of interesting gameplay elements into the mix to make it worthwhile.Graphically the game is everything that I would expect from a GBA tactical RPG. It takes an isometric viewpoint that is not adjustable, which can create some confusion when your character is behind obstructions that block your viewpoint. The battle areas are nicely drawn and have enough eye candy to be interesting but not overly cluttered. The characters look similar to the ones from the show and have little movements that they perform every once in a while to keep the game from getting static. Overall the game is graphically pleasing. The gameplay revolves around the characters 'spirit energy' which is used in performing attacks or mending (healing) the characters. On one particular character it is also used when healing other characters. More powerful actions generally use more spirit energy and/or initiative. Initiative is basically a rating that determines how long before your character is able to move agai.

This is a great/must have game for all Yu Yu fanatics. Over all it's a great play and must have collection. The game is kinda like Final Fantasy Tactics but much more simplified version. Though there are a few area I wish it was better but as far as it goes, I say it's pretty darn good.Graphic is cute and nice, better that the Spirit Dectative one.10-11 characters to play with, and you take 5 into battle most of the time. All character uses their signiture moves from the animation/manga.The only few things I wish they could have done better are...do some kind of bonus/cheat thing for Genkai so that you can keep her alive all the time because they sure kill her fast in the middle of the game. Make Kurama stronger, cause he really is a powerful character in the animation. Take off the level cap and even Special skill cap cause lvl only goes up to 32.OVer all it's a great game, I guess maybe it's not as popular as FF games here in the USA and that's why they didn't go all out for it.MUST HAVE FOR YUU YUU FANATICS
