The diabolical Dr. Eggman has hatched another plan for world domination! He has built an amazing interstellar amusement park, floating in space around Sonic's home planet, bursting with incredible rides and attractions. However, all is not as it seems as Dr. Eggman has abducted an alien race called Wisps and is harnessing their colorful energy to fuel a sinister plot. Soon after arriving at the amusement park, Sonic discovers he is able to use these mysterious alien forces to help the Wisps escape! The alien Wisps featured in the game each have a unique Color Power that, once freed, Sonic is able to absorb while speeding through the various theme park inspired planets. Sonic will need all his speed and skill as he faces this test, but, empowered by the alien energy, it's a test he'll pass with flying colors!

If you love the classic Sonic games, Sonic Rush games, …

If you love the classic Sonic games, Sonic Rush games, or Sonic Advance games, you'll definitely want to pick this one up. The gameplay is, other than the new "Wisp" abilities added, almost identical to the Rush games, which is a good thing. Music is great, level design is great, graphics are impressive (for DS), character control is very good, and the new voice actors did a good job (though it's really only Sonic that has a few speaking lines here and there). The only thing I really found wrong with this game was the length: it's about 5 or 6 hours long, not counting the time it would take to go back and get all "A" ranks on the levels and missions, and find the hidden red rings. The core game, however, can be beaten very quickly.Bottom line: if you like Sonic, good platforming games, or just want a good DS title to play before the 3DS launch, this is for you.
