I played a demo on Wii U of 2016. Loved the Rugby and it is one od the few games I know with it. Preordered this because 2016 got really hard to find.The story is only as long as it is because of cut scenes and walking around. The story is meh (who plays a Mario & Sonic sports game for the story though). The actual events are either super fun or pretty fun. There are an exception or two and more of things I can't figure out and don't really care about (badminton seemed super random for some reason).My biggest complaints here are a) no tournaments for events that use them (soccer, rugby, etc) nor heats for or anything like that. Second is the length of games can be very short. Rugby I think has a max of 4 minutes. With no tournament, it seems to be missing something.Ultimately, if you think of this more as a collection of mini games, I think it all works quite well. Again, some of the events habe strange controls or timing that is less forgiving than I would have thought (diving and vault in particular).
