The Game Boy Player is Nintendo's official add-on that transforms your GameCube into a full Game Boy Advance system, letting you play your entire library of Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance cartridges on your television . The device attaches to the high-speed parallel port on the bottom of the GameCube and uses the Start-Up Disc to access its hardware . Rather than software emulation, the Game Boy Player uses physical hardware nearly identical to that of a Game Boy Advance, ensuring excellent compatibility with virtually the entire Game Boy library .
