So, I bought this my for my 6-year-old after reading the reviews. When it arrived in the mail, I noticed the box had 14+ written on it as suggested age. This concerned me, so I decided to open it and see if it is, in fact, age appropriate for my 6-year-old. Well, I fell in love with R/C flying after the first flight. Being completely new to this, it was a bit challenging, but I got the hang of it (took maybe 2-3 flights). After being made fun of for playing with my son's Christmas present day after day, I opted to buy myself a Quadcopter!!!This heli is quite small, which makes it very suitable for indoor use. Charge time is about 40 minutes with a 7 minute flight time. This heli seems pretty durable considering...My son loves my quad (he saw me fly it once), so I think he will enjoy this. It will only fly outside in shade or when close to dark. In daylight, it loses signal constantly since it operates on infrared signal, not RC. Obviously, it isn't made for outdoor flight though. The build quality is impressive considering the cost. I've bought a couple replacement kits in anticipation of my son wrecking terribly...we'll see how it holds up to kid testing. I don't intend on letting him use it alone, but I think it will do just fine with adult supervision. Daddy gives it TWO THUMBS up! We'll reserve final ratings until my son puts it through it paces...

For Christmas I was given a Gyro Nano Hercules "Unbreakable" helicopter as a fun gadget present. After 30 minutes of use it's top rotor quit working. I was hooked but was now stuck with a broken helicopter. So after checking the reviews I ordered the Syma S107 G from retrolio. World of difference between the two. The S107 G is much, much easier to fly, tougher (been flying it for a few days now with several crashes and it's still going strong) and it's over over $10 cheaper than the Gyro Nano Hercules. I highly recommend the S107 G.After several hours of flight let me add the following recommendations -1.) Buy some replacement rotors and connect buckles (the tiny part that holds the gyro balance bar to the rotor shaft). The blades will get beat up no matter how good you are flying it and the buckles are easily lost during a crash.2.) While it is easier to fly than other small helicopters I wouldn't recommend getting it for anyone under 8 years old. These require quite a bit of hand/eye coordination to fly successfully.3.) This is strictly an indoor helicopter. It struggles with just HVAC fans. Outside the slightest breathe of wind makes it impossible to control.4.) One trick I learned - it takes 30-40 minutes to charge using computer USB, cellphone charger, or 110v wall charger. But it charges in around 20 minutes using a New Trent battery pack. As an added bonus is the battery pack shuts down after it finishes charging so the battery doesn't over charge.

I have purchased several of these little helicopters over the years. Syma is my favorite brand, and S107G is my favorite model. I have purchased the Apache, Coast Guard, and Mini Chinook models by Syma, but the S107G is the best performing of them all.I consider it to be very easy to learn and control, but I am quite good with my hands. The average user may not have the same experience as I did. Once you learn how to fly it, you will want to go around or through obstacles and maybe even land it on a ceiling fan blade.Toddlers and pets love it. They will chase it around the house until it crashes on them. At that point, they will stay away.Don't try to fly it outdoors except at night when there is no breeze. First, the controller is infrared. The sun's rays will interfere, and you will not be able to control it. Second, it cannot move fast enough to fly against a light breeze.Fly this baby indoors, and you will have lots of fun. Don't crash it on your wife. The blades really sting.
