Right from the start when I put in the disk this game delivered. I had taught myself basic chords etc. over the past 5 years and in 1 week of playing Rocksmith I had learned more than I had on my own in 5 years! This game is unlike any game I've ever played. As you advance in your skills the difficulty gets harder automatically until you are playing the actual note for note song. I'm a huge fan of being able to actually play the real music and not just some dumbed down version. The guitarcade is one of the most valuable areas of the game for me. I can practice technique and have a ton of fun at the same time!Oh yeah, it has a colorblind setting to turn on for those of us who struggle with colors. This was a huge help and I REALLY appreciate that Ubisoft included this!As a huge side bonus, Garage Band recognizes the True Tone cable so you can record your own music with what you learn from the game!!

I was a player in the 80's, I gave up do to lack of any useful tool's and the shoddy instruction of Metal Method....and playing a stupid scales over and over without guidance. This is giving me the much needed boost to return to playing, I get to participate in songs I like, even if I am slow. I am rebuilding old skills and having a blast and it is nothing now to practice 4-5 hours when I get the chance! Love it!

I bought this edition because it supports the bass guitar. It gives you feedback. I'm learning useful stuff. It's cheaper than professional lessons and it's on my schedule. The only negative is that the sound of my bass seems slightly delayed when it comes out of the speakers compared to what I get from my amp. I can play quarter notes and 1/8 notes, but 1/16's are right out. I haven't tried it with a regular guitar yet. After I get the bass down, the Strat is next. The problem isn't annoying enough to make me regret buying it. It's good enough to recommend to others and you will learn music. It's helping my technique.

Very great tool for learning and playing songs and your guitar. I give it 4 stars because half the songs are not very great. It does have 1 A7X song and 1 Iron Maiden song, but that's about all the metal it has, considering that metal is a huge part of guitar history, that should include some metallica that isn't only accessible through dlc

WARNING!! Extremely addicting!I bought this for my husband who has no musical background at all. He loves it. It's really exciting to watch him accomplish a goal and learn to play along with songs. He gets mad at me because I keep stealing his "play time" by hogging the game. There is so many neat features, it's hard to list them all, but I would definitely suggest this to anyone wanting to learn to play the guitar and to practice techniques. I would say it's one step down from having an actual tutor teaching you in person. I do wish there was a little more song choices with jazz/blues, but I do see you can download additional song packs off the Xbox site for a small fee. I will cross that bridge once I have mastered some songs from the disc. We bought a separate electric guitar and it works just fine with the system. Just be sure to get the Cable that is required for the Xbox. I used to make fun of Guitar Hero and Rock Band because you don't really learn guitar by pressing colored buttons on a toy. It has a similar teaching concept by using colored queues for each of the 6 strings, but you actually play a real guitar and learn cords, hammer-ons, pull-offs, slides, tremolos, etc. This is like the "Rosetta Stone" of learning to play the guitar.
