I've seen all of the criticism about this game not 'fitting in' with the Need For Speed franchise, and I can understand that. I was never interested in the micro-managing aspects of other racing titles, where you had to figure out which engine, which tires, which body moulding to buy...I just want to drive and have fun. This game delivers that experience.I loved Burnout: Paradise. It grew boring, however, because there was no "ok, now what?" factor to it. You drove, you crashed, you raced, but there was no 'skin in the game' feeling to it. The entire time I played that game, I was thinking of the NFS games like Hot Pursuit and Most Wanted, and fervently wishing that Burnout: Paradise had THAT kind of gameplay.Well, now it does. I've told my friends that this is basically Burnout: Paradise with police chases. And that makes it awesome, fun, and exciting. Collecting the new cars is fun, beating the challenges is fun, trying to beat my friends' accomplishments in the game is fun. I play games to have FUN, not to construct a factually accurate racing platform with minute attention to detail! It looks great, the sound is great, and it's one of those 360 titles that I can throw in and play for a few free minutes and have a little fun, without having to worry about reaching a waypoint, a quest location, or a pivotal plot moment. Just get in and drive. If you can accept it for what it is, it's great fun. If you expected something more Need For Speed-ish...you will pr.
