I've played the core of Spider-Man games - since the first two on PSOne, to Spiderman 2, and even the mediocre Spiderman 3. I skipped over all the filler games in between, because they just didn't seem like they had much effort put into them. I was in the mood for another go-round with ol' Spidey, so I finally decided to pick this up from RedBox to try out for a day. The rest is history - beat the whole thing in the past 24 hours (probably spent around 12 hours with everything)...and I'm amazed. This game is incredible fun. If you've played other Spiderman games, then I must warn you - it's different. The feel is just much different than the previous games, but once you play it for awhile you realize that it all works very well and is finely tuned (e.g. Spiderman swinging/playing very differently indoors and outdoors, and perfectly suited for both). Swinging around New York is amazing...you go much further, higher, and faster in this game than any other iteration, but it's welcome. It brings an entirely fresh, new, and exhilerating experience to the table. The story is good, fighting gets fun after awhile after you earn some upgrades, and somehow it managed to not get too terribly repetitive. Then again, I love 'busy work' in games - rescuing people and taking them to hospitals, stopping car chases...it's all part of Spiderman, and they're all very fun. Concerning the featured low review of this game, why would you want likenesses?? This game benefited MUCH more by being sepa.
