The game has had an update download and has improved significantly since. Floor exercises are no longer tracked so situps and planks etc will not frustrate anymore, other than the fact that you have to wait for your trainer to finish her reps, which is fine, it gives you some time for water break. The controls are alot less jumpy too which made kinect navigation a lot easier, however i still like to use the controller. What still needs improvement are the "bend over" exercises, especially rowing frustrates me like no other. Also when making customized workouts, there is no way to easily swap one exercise for another without deleting and re-entering all the exercises that come after it. Same goes for the pre-programmed workouts, you should be able to delete or subtitute exercises. I have a bad shoulder and are unable to do some of the exercises, but it only lets you eliminate them or skip them during your workout no change them into one that works for me.That said, my final problem with this game continues to be lack of variety in exercises. Doing the same exercises for biceps, rows, flies, etc becomes boring and tedious after months, which is why im trying other games right now.Another nice feature would be to be able to pick what muscle group you want to focus on and it would pick the appropriate exercises for you.I would like to start with the statement that I only paid $39.99 for this game and my 2 stars are partially based on that price. If I had paid more I would.

I normally havent done a review but after getting EA active 2 I had to.This is not a game this is a serious workout tool. The exercises are varied and some will push you to the limits of your abilities. But it does just what its supposed to do and that is get you in shape. The fact that the program tracks your heart rate and calories burned puts this program in another level and shouldnt be compared to other programs that dont have that feature. What other program will perform a weekly heart rate recovey test during the course of a 9 week program? I just completed the 9 week program and I can tell you from a person who works out all the time that it kicked my butt but put me in better shape and Im ready for summer now. Thanks EA

Got a bit repetitive, but the set up was nice and heart rate monitor was a good addition.

I've had the active 2 for about a month now and use it 4 days a week. Hard to get to a gym time wise, so a 1/2 workout is nice. Usually I bike or run. I've never had a personal trainer, so it was nice to learn new exercises and you can do a surprising amount with the green giant rubber band but the upper body stuff is pretty light. The heart rate monitor is a nice touch. The cardio over relies on forward/back side/side jumps that gets a little old and will bother people with knee issues. One can change out excercises on a list before the workout, but the menu navigation is pain (really need a controller, not hand gestures). The running is nice cause you can be jogging in real life and look like an Olympian on the screen. The games are not so interesting after the first play and this is an area that they are really missing out on. Can't say I'm that excited for the next work out. X-box adventures is a whole lot more fun (unfortunately our DVD got scratched up). The graphics don't take advantage of the X-box HD capabilities (maybe some hints of water reflections). Lots of room for improvement. The sensor has some trouble with a few of the excercises though the kinect calibration see's me fine. However the kinect can do much more than the wii in terms of monitoring body motion. When spring comes, I'll still use this (2-3 times a week), but will enjoy getting outside more.

Great program and workout. The heart monitor works great. The load time takes a while but you can catch your breath, grab a drink of water, etc. The resistance strap is worthless and ridiculous but overall, a great Kinect game. This and Your Shape are the best Kinect workout games to date. Highly recommended!
