It's still a great game but the generation of players have moved on for the most part, that used to play. If there's a remaster, perhaps that could open the door back up.

While this game is almost 5 years old, I wanted to post a review specifically for parents looking to find a shooter suitable for kids and young teens. Warhawk is that game. Warhawk has been a personal favorite of ours since its release. It does not have the high-quality graphics or weapon selection of Call of Duty or Halo. It is does not have a single-player story mode. It is an online game. The important thing for parents to know is that this game can be played by their 9-year old. It has zero graphic violence. When a player is killed, their is no blood splatter or real-life death scenes. Basically, your guy just gets blown back a few yards. You don't have to worry about gratuitous language and never-ending trash talk. Turn off the headset and you're free from all that. You can also create your own games, where you have the option of limiting/ blocking chat and limiting the rank (for those just learning the game, to play against other new players). For anyone who has played the online shooters, you know how aggressive everyone gets, especially towards the kids. This game is perfect for kids just learning shooter games, parents who don't want their kids playing the violent shooters, and families who want to play together (split screen).(The sequel to Warhawk is being released soon. There is a beta for Starhawk currently being offered. It looks great, especially with the addition of being able to build inside the map during game play).

Like you've probably read in other reviews, when you first …

Like you've probably read in other reviews, when you first play this game after running through the tutorials, you will get creamed online. But keep in mind that since there is a ranking system that improves the power of your weapons and your vitality, it's worth sticking it out. Because after you rise in rank on the ranked servers, you will see yourself hanging with some of the top dogs of the game. That's when the real fun starts. It's also why this game has a lot of re-playability. The game rewards you for your loyalty. That's why you will still see a lot of people online playing to this day. But noobs should not be discouraged because there are plenty of servers who limit only to the lower ranks. And even if some of those lower ranks are experienced players with an alias, at least they won't be as powerful. The lack of a single player campaign can be painful because if your internet isn't working, then your not left with much. So when Sony's PSN went down for that month, I couldn't do much at all. Unless you invite some friends over to play split screen. That's not always convenient. There is so much to cover when describing the game play. The maps are so diverse. There are those with all the standard vehicles/weapons available and then there are some where you can only function on foot. There are even games you can host where it's only dog fighting (warhawk air battles).I like that it's fast paced and when there is a lot of people around you firing weapons and moving abou.

This was the first ps3 game I purchased. I still love it to this day. Great game. Super fun . I wish they had it for PS4. That would make my day. I sure miss this.
