WWF Smackdown - PS2 Game (Retro Fam)

If you are a true Wrestling fan you will love this game. It has great features and the wrestlers look exactly what they look like in real life.

I must say this is the best wrestling game out. The characters look almost real, even though there are some problems with the effects, but hey the designers can't do everything. I found it fairly hard to do some of the finishing moves, which was my only set back, but I mean you learn how to do them after a while. It has a full list of WWF characters, which can't be beat, and the entrances are amazing on the first time watching them. The story mode is very fun and entertaining, but after a while it can get boring. This is a great game to have for any WWF fan, and even for those that aren't.

This is the best game of the entire series. The match selection is superb. The roster is awesome. The commentary is a little off and the story mode is a little short, but still much more fun than SD: shut your mouth.

If you haven't bought this game, do not do so. If you have bought this game, return it at your earliest convenience. This version of Smackdown has a memory card corrupting bug that renders your saved game unloadable. The condition is triggered by a certain number of saved CAW's being on your memory card at any given time. If you reach an unspecified amount of CAWs, the game will freeze upon your the next successful completed save. Every subsequent loading of data off of the memory card will result in the game freezing and locking up. The only known cure for this is total game data wipe (!) of your Smackdown file located on your memory card. This lone bug keeps this very good game from being the greatest wrestling game ever. The only other gripe I have is that I feel that the moves do not carry enough damage. NOBODY should be able to get right up from a DDT! Why does a piledriver have less effect than a People's Elbow? How come all the flying turnbuckle moves have almost zero effect? THQ really needs to fix this problem, as well as dummy down the countering system (see the Gamecube's version to REALLY witness a true defensive system!) This game is really just a great rent, so don't waste your time trudging through the LONG season just to get really angry later.

For those who have read the previews of Smackdown: Just bring it, ought to know that it plays very similar to the first 2 in the series. And updated roster to reflect the current situations over the past year (minus the wcw.ecw alliance). The best create a wrestler ever seen of any wrestling game. So create your own Alliance members. 45 wrestlers with 4 secret wrestlers and much improved match types like the 3 stages of hell match. I recommend buying it the day it comes out.
