This is basically a walking shopping game. You hold the Wiimote and the nunchuck and you walk around the island with your little avatar. You cannot use your Wii Mii with this game.As you walk to the music, you get tokens. Those tokens are used to buy things around the island for the seemingly helpless islanders. When first starting out, go to the settings and makrpe it easy on yourself. Take away the penalty for misstep, make the items their cheapest price. As you get more experienced with the game, you can change the settings.I personally bounce on a minitramp so I leave the easy stuff on. I am tone/beat deaf so I don't put the penalty on. I usually mute the music and listen to podcasts or books. Makes the time fly.I have been eagerly awaiting the next edition of this game. Alas, it dirsn't look like that will happen. Get this while they are still available.

I got this Wii game thinking it would be something to do once in awhile when I wanted a break from EA Sports Active and my usual routine. This game is so much fun it currently is my only fitness routine. Maybe its because it brings out the competitive streak in me, but I cannot stop playing until I have finished enough steps to build a big item like a boutique or one of the suspension bridges. The competition to get "just one more" item created or to finish finding all the rainbow spheres before I quit for the night really keeps me walking! Last night I walked 4.3 miles and 6.1 the night before that and the time seemed to just fly by!I use the nunchuck and wii-mote to keep track of how many steps I'm taking. I haven't tried the Wii Fit board or the DDR mat so just refer to other reviews for info on that. Sometimes I will get the problem where the hand/pointer icon keeps sliding across the screen in a diagonal way. I've found that unplugging the nunchuk and plugging it back in to the wii-mote helps stop this.To give the game more intensity, I use my Reebok step and do a basic step in time to the music on the songs that are lower than 130 - 135 beats per minute. I was surprised at how much doing that upped the intensity for me. Now I just need to edit the play list so I can alternate faster songs with slower songs....my own self styled interval training!

I was kind of skeptical when I bought this game but the reviews were good so I decided to give it a try. I was hooked the first day I played! I usually do a 1/2 hour-hour on this game depending on the time I have and my interest level. Just when I start to get bored with this game, I open a new path/area up and it gets exciting again. I have several other work out games and I just keep pushing them aside to play this one. I work out 5-6 days a week , and this game has been my go to choice for many of those days. There's a few changes I would make however- the map is very hard to read. I wish on the map the areas were "named" - I've found myself getting large items (buildings, cars) and then losing them until I just happen upon them later on. An aerial view would also be nice.

I love that this game keeps me moving when I'd otherwise be watching tv. It's hard to believe something so simple can be so motivating. I'll think "just 50 more steps for car" and then "well- just 10 more steps" and before I know it an hour has passed. The balance board works fine for me as I have seen some people complain about it. The only negative comment I have is that I don't think the calorie counter is accurate. I have had the game for 2 weeks now and have been burning an average of 600 calories a day since then. According to that- I should have lost SOME weight by now- at least a few pounds...but I have lost nothing. I still love the game and will keep using it because I KNOW it has to be better for me than watching tv, even if I'm not losing weight (yet).
