I've had this almost two weeks now, and I really enjoy it. I wasn't sure if it would be for me, but it was on sale for $19.99 so I took a chance and I'm happy I did. I recently purchased a Pure Fun 40" rebounder and am enjoying Walk it Out even more now. I am so occupied keeping in beat and unlocking capsules, that I forget that I'm actually working out and getting a good cardio workout. I did 4 miles yesterday and I would find it hard to do that walking/jogging outside as I would get bored with it. Adding the rebounder has increased the intensity and fun of the workout and with some songs, I can bounce/dance to keep the beat and work different muscles. Very happy with purchase.

Yep it is true. I look forward to walking on the island. While this game was marketed to kids mostly and is cartoon-y looking, As an adult, I have come to love this game.I am now on my 4th tour of the island (basically I have completed the game 3 times and have started over again). When I started I was obese. I didn't like exercise and was unmotivated.I have since lost all but about 20-30 lbs above my goal weight. Was WIO the only reason? No but it was helpful. Here's why.I can create strategies on how I am going to get through the game.Everyday my goal is to complete the rainbow task which takes about 20-25 minutes. So I am focused on completing the task not exercising.I find myself having to get off to go to work or whatever but staying on to just finish one more item or section. Which is crazy to me b/c I have never been one to say "uhhh... just five more minutes of exercise please." WHAT? Crazeee talk!!There is also a great community of WIO fans on Facebook so it is fun to share our experiences. The WIO Facebook page offers support, hints on strategies for completing the game as well as maps etc and there are silly times when we talk about our made up stories about the characters in the game.I think this would also be a great game for kids and a parent b.c there is an option to play together. I imagine that just like reading with children leads to adults who enjoying reading that the same would be true for exercising.Anyway this would be a great gift for adults, kids.

I wanted to walk but five in the morning the beat the heat wasn't going to cut it. When I found this rated well in other websites and saw it was created for the younger set as well I took the plunge. Many reviews say you can't use the board but you can. The software tells you to not pick up your feet and it will warn you if you get to close to the edge but you can still do all those things, especially once you are off and walking. I go barefoot so I can feel the board under my feet as I have already slipped off once. My son is a hard sell on anything new and he is now walking while I type. It didn't hurt when he found the wack a mole style game that's for sure.I'm enjoying figuring it out and seeing new things. Challenges I've not yet mastered are going to keep me interested. I recommend it.

This game has come up in my retrolio recommendations since shortly its release last year. Due to the cover art, I'd dismissed it as purely a game for kids. You know, something hokey, not very challenging, and probably more annoyance than anything. WRONG!As I've found it increasingly difficult to get out of the house for exercise (heat wave, allergies, sun in my eyes, planets not in alignment, etc.) the pounds have piled on. So I went in search of a fun, low-impact 'exergame' to use with our Wii. The rave reviews and discussions in retrolio's forums convinced me to give this one a try. Man, I wish I'd bought it back when retrolio first recommended it to me!The game is fun, and thanks to both the visual distractions (chips to collect and cash in on event capsules that populate your island with decor) and the rhythmic music (lots of bouncy songs), it's incredibly easy to forget you're exercising. Until the sweat starts dripping, that is, and even then the game pulls you forward in search of more capsules, more rainbow spheres, and more things to discover. It's just a blast, and yet it gets your blood pumping! Before I even realized it, I'd walked for 45 minutes to reach 5,001 steps. (Possibly more. I was having problems with my nunchuck.)Now that I can exercise any time, day or night, without worrying about the weather forecast, the pollen count, irritating teenagers shouting rude things about my weight (assuming I work out when my kids are at school) or any of the other thousand excu.

I've had WIO for nearly a year now, and you can count me among those who were skeptical when it was announced (walking? that's all?) and then quickly became a convert. The simplicity of this game, if you can even call it that, is probably its greatest attribute. Once you create a user file and get past the tutorial walk around the stadium and out the exit, you can easily set up and go for a virtual walk for 5 minutes, 30 minutes, an hour, 5 hours - as long as you want! As far as I know, this is the only Wii fitness game that's truly nonstop and endless; you continue walking even between songs, with no button-pushing or menu-pointing required to move on. A lot of players end up walking much longer than they intended when they started.I like to walk either on my DDR mat or Active Life mat (turn the DDR mat so one of the corners points to the TV, to avoid the bowlegged walk) with the remote in my right hand to point and nunchuck in my left to pan around the scene. The game has over a hundred songs in speeds ranging from a slow stroll to jogging speed, and you can arrange them in playlists or put them in order by speed. (It doesn't let you add your own music.)Another thing about WIO is that it's the only game my daughter and I both play regularly. She often goes for a short walk in the morning between breakfast and school. This is a great way for kids to get exercise on their own, without you having to drive them somewhere or supervise them outdoors.Walk It Out is an innova.
