This book has sat on my TBR for ages. No idea why. But I'm glad I cracked it when I did, after being well and truly shut of all the crap I've had to choose from lately.Ms. Thorne isn't a writer, she's an author. Yes, there is actually a difference. The book was amazing. The single POV narrated by the heroine was perfect. The heroine, Lucy and hero, Josh were well-developed and there wasn't a lot of background noise generated by the secondaries. The plot was just straightforward with no unnecessary drama, and best of all, it didn't revolve around sex. The couple doesn't even get to that point until somewhere in the last 20% of the book! And those scenes when they happened were all the more meaningful because they were so beautifully written. This book was crafted with maturity and class, and there is do little of that out there nowadays in the way of conteporary fiction. The Hating Game was fun, frustrating and full of feels and from 92% on I was wiping tears. That NEVER happens. Lucy's showdown with Josh's dad was epic and Josh's reaction had me simultaneously laughing and crying. The same with the couple's declarations a bit further on.What a heartwarmer this was.Best book I've read in almost 2 years, hands down.Bravo, Ms. Thorne. Now publish another one, please! All the stars. I'd give it 10 if I could.
