I'll throw it out there.. I DO NOT really enjoy the GTA series. Sure, they are fun to hop around in and wreak havoc on the cities, but really.. just not my bag. I want a little bit more action and adventure and a little less turning a mirror on society. Just not my thing..So, I was REALLY skeptical about liking Red Dead Redemption. Sand-box style questing just wasn't for me I thought..I could not have been more wrong! The gameplay is excellent, with some intense fire-fights, cool "dead-eye" feature and fluid controls once you get the hang of them. I was expecting GTA on a horse, and while there are noticeable similarities, they really went out of their way to make this feel different and like it's own world.Game is beautiful, even though I'm playing it in now 4 years after release, I'm still impressed by the level of detail considering it's age. This goes into cut-scenes which are really well done, have great voice acting and draw you into the story. The expansiveness of the environment, dangers in the wilderness, side quest, etc. are all very very cool and even mostly through the game like I am now, I didn't ever find anything to be TOO repetitive.Even the mini-games are pretty cool...I've spent a couple of hours just sitting there playing texas hold'em or Five Finger Filet and even the dice game.
