Super Paper Mario - Wii Game (Retro Fam)

Now, don't get me wrong Paper Mario fans. Thousand Year Door is and always will be a gem in its own right. However, Super Paper Mario will always have an edge over TYD in my opinion. And I will explain myself shortly.The SPM story is much darker than I expected it to be even for a Paper Mario game. (Technically, the Mario & Luigi and Paper Mario series tend to be darker than the standard Mario games. That is why I only play those parts of the franchise. The darkest Mario & Luigi game has to be Partners in Time. I mean, wow. There's almost no words for it. Toads being drained of their very lifeforce??? And that's the tip of the iceberg.)Super Paper Mario's new characters are a mystery in themselves. They're fun just like the folks in TYD, but they have secrets....I will not spoil anything for those who haven't played SPM, but I will say that nothing is as it seems in this game. Who is the real villain? What are the true motives? You'll be strung along as you play. Often falling for the obvious until reality hits you in the face.With Thousand Year Door, I didn't get that vibe. You immediately got a sense that The Crystal Stars are the keys to chaos and there's an obvious big bad at the end who wants to enslave/destroy the current world. Admit it, you saw that coming from jump street. I will say that the only mystery in TYD was Peach's role in the plot. As many of you know, her role was to be a vessel for the Shadow Queen's revival. Its fun but not as good as the other Paper Mario title I played.

This was a gift for my grandson. He just loves this game. He plays it constantly. So glad I bought it for him!

This action packed game takes you through a whirlwind adventure in both 2D and 3D in just about any character including Bowser!
