A fairly decent pirate epic staring Erol Flynn, Maureen O'Hara and Anthony Quinn, with a very crystal clear image courtesy the blue ray format. The story is a bit of a variant on the pirate formula. Flynn plays a British naval officer bent on bringing pirates operating out of Madagascar to justice. He find some unusual allies along the way.The sociological portion of this film regards a potential inter-racial relationship between Flynn's character and an Indian Princess, which is never fully realized, but has a kind of political weight to it.Like some other pirate films that were late comers, there isn't as much ship to ship action as in previous films of the genre, but there's a good amount of action all the same. Some of the acting is a little stiff but passable, but either way it's still a pretty good story with a decent plot to it.If you want to see a decent pirate movie from the hay-day of pirate films, then check this one out.
