Fantastic game so far, been playing since I got it …

Fantastic game so far, been playing since I got it a week ago, and seem to be somewhat addicted. After playing Skyrim and hating how horrible the controls are, this game is fantastic for providing the open world RPG that I was looking for with controls that are responsive and quick, and have quite a number of skills for each class to play with. Highly recommend, reminds me of an open world Dragon Age, which to me is a great thing.Update:Well, I logged on my game shortly after this review was posted to get a big error saying "Your save game is corrupt, would you like to start a new one?" after....a good 60+ hours invested, no, i did not want to make a new game. Sold it the next day. Unfortunate, that it was a fun game, but no way i'm putting the time back into it when out of the blue the save game corrupted. Make sure you copy your save game to a USB device every couple days!

I saw this game probably a year ago and have been waiting for it since, i forgot about it and saw it was coming out the next week so i was like hey why not preorder? and it was the 2nd preorder ive ever done and 1 of the best RPGs ive played, im a hardcore demons/dark souls player, 2 of my favorite games. if you liked those games youll love this, the gameplay is like DS but with a bit more action too it, and more RPG.People compare this game to skyrim just to give it a bad name in comparison but dont listen to them they're ignorant, these are 2 completely different games, the only thing related to skyrim is the fact its open world, but other than that nothing is alike. the class system used is great, it adds lots of options and gives the game replay value, which is rare these days, the pawn system is great, there is no direct multiplayer but this makes up for it since you get to use the other player created pawns, which is a NPC that fights along side you, you customize them just like you do your main character, you give commands but its all action based live fighting not turn based. There is a challenge with the game with it being open world, its kind of hard to figure out where to go if you dont pay attention, and if you wander too far you're bound to hit a road block of enemies you think you can beat...but turn out to be horribly mistaken, this may sound dumb but it adds to the adventure, there are a ton of side quest to do to keep yourself busy and plenty of places to go,.

No *Dragon Age*, but still has many touches of epicness …

No *Dragon Age*, but still has many touches of epicness in its story. And it has a more active combat system than many RPGs (yes, you CAN climb up on giant bosses and stab at their necks, so the wins feel like real wins). It's amusingly meta in calling the rest of your party extra-dimensional "pawn" servants, and yet you don't control them directly but can take advice from them and let them spot loot you missed-- oddly realistic. Its main limit is that characters tend to max out their levels, at least as far as qualifying for new skills, so you're encouraged to cross-train in other classes that may not combine with the first. (Another limit is that its deliciously complex inventory/crafting system never lets you sort things by name-- where's that anti-curse potion??)The combat engine does give melee combatants more love than ranged characters. Arrows and spells are powerful (and spells are seriously flashy), but most of them are just damage, and the challenge of aiming a bow or holding the Conjure button down long enough doesn't compare to how warriors can leap from one foe onto another or time a precision block. Although, taking out the dreaded Griffin with one Oz-caliber tornado spell almost makes up for it, :)Does the job nicely.

My husband and i started playing skyrim first but we got fed up waiting for the dlc so we started playing Dragon's Dogma. It's a very addictive game (before you know it you've been playing all day) there is almost nothing useless to pick up and i love how much control you get over your character's look and you're pawn's look as well. The pawn system is great you can recruit 2 additional pawns to help the pawns do learn how to do the quests and defeat enemies adn will helpif you get stuck and any of your psn friends' pawns are free no matter the level difference

Well, The game is well made, No glitches yet that I can see. It is entertaining, and fun to play. However, People around me cannot stand the voice acting! One of my pawns voice sounds to masculin for a women. The English accents sound fake..The merchant in Gran Soren sounds like he is auditioning to replace Ringo in the Beatles! You constantly hear the same repeated lines.." Fire, It `Ates it" (Hates)"Strength in number ,Arisen!"I wish that part was done a little better. The game is still wonderful and worth the time put in!
