I didn't know what to expect with Rage, id Software's new game. When I'd first read the description of the game, I thought to myself, "How is this going to make for an interesting game?". Yet, after booting up Rage on my Playstation 3, I can see how it does. Straight from the get-go, Rage pulls you into its' story. It goes a little something like this: The world is nearly wiped out by an asteroid. You emerge from an underground vault, prematurely, to find a world that's not a very friendly place. Not very friendly to you, of course. Through a series of missions, side quests and whatnot; you find out why. Despite it's variety of missions and so on, Rage is primarily a traditional FPS.First thing you'll notice in the game is the detail to the graphics of the game. Everything loooks photo-realistic. Not only that but the areas you visit are brimming with life. NPCs and enemies react just as we would in real-life, according to the situations(That's something that made Rage all the more believable to me). If you come into Rage thinking it to be like past id Software games, you'll be pleasantly surprised to find out that things things are much different this time around. Enemies react accordingly when you fire at them or swing at them. The towns and areas you visit and do battle in actually feel inhabited and lived in. It's really hard to explain all the nuances about the game that draw you in but id has did so with this game. Course, six years in the making has really paid off wit.
